Manna is the name of the food pantry ministry of Grace Church that is committed to serving the Kutztown area by providing food and other items to the needy. Manna offers individuals and families with low incomes with much-needed food and other grocery items free of charge. Caring for the emotional and spiritual needs of our clients as well, Manna strives to live out their mission "to feed people at all times; and, when necessary, hand out food."

Manna partners with the Helping Harvest Food Bank and Weis Markets to acquire 4,000 pounds of food each month. Helping Harvest Food Bank is associated with Second Harvest (a national organization). The congregation of Grace Church provides much of Manna's other supply needs as well as significant financial support and a vital volunteer force to assist with prayer, people care, receiving, distribution, and restocking.
The need in the Kutztown area is significant. Each month, Manna serves around 70 families (comprising over 260 people) and the numbers are growing. In addition to lower-income families, Manna has helped individuals that have found themselves out of work due to layoffs and/or health reasons.
Manna receives its funding from the Grace Church budget, individual contributions, and community and business partners. |
