This is Rich Bell! Rich was baptized at Grace Church last September and he said:
"I decided to get baptized at Grace last semester for a couple of reasons. I was baptized when I was younger, but that was before I fully understood the gospel and wanted to follow Jesus with my whole heart. When I came to Kutztown, the Lord revealed to me the true gospel and what it meant to live a life that truly followed Jesus and that it is worth far more than my sinful heart could ever desire. I chose to get baptized at Grace specifically because this church has become my home church while at school. This allowed me to express to my brothers and sisters of Grace Church, that I am a follower of Jesus Christ and am devoted to growing in my relationship with Him. This is why anyone should be baptized. If you are a Christian, someone who has committed to following/loving Jesus with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, you are called then by Jesus to be baptized. This allows others to know that you are a Christian, that way the Church can encourage and teach you how to grow and love the Lord more and more each day"
Baptism illustrates two things: Jesus's burial and resurrection and also one's life as a follower of Christ in that rebirth.
This Sunday, May 7th, will be an adult baptism following the 10:30 service. There are 6 followers of Jesus who have made the decision to be baptized on this day. We look forward to rejoicing with them in the proclamation of their faith!
